Photoflex debuts First Studio™ line of consumer tungsten lights and lighting kits |

Photoflex has introduced the First Studio™ line of lighting kits aimed at the consumer market for digital imaging and traditional photography, it was announced today by President Sharon Reeves. |
Photoflex has introduced the First Studio™ line of lighting kits aimed at the consumer market for digital imaging and traditional photography, it was announced today by President Sharon Reeves.
The First Studio product line is highlighted by the new FirstStar™, an 8-inch-diameter, parabolic-shaped reflector light available in kits to meet the specific needs of portrait and product photographers.
"By entering this rapidly growing segment of the photographic lighting market, we intend to serve budget-conscious photographers who also want the traditional Photoflex quality and reliability superior to that of competitors," Reeves states.
Competitive advantages of the FirstStar reflector light include:- all-aluminum construction, much sturdier than that of competitors, with a baked-on enamel exterior
- twist-grip, removable swivel that provides one-handed operation, snapping into place quickly and securely (instead of some competitors' inexpensive, clip-on, ball-joint swivels similar to those on shop lights found at hardware stores)
- 250-watt, double-envelope tungsten lamps with E26 base, which screw easily into the reflector's socket and perform substantially longer than traditional photoflood bulbs that are very fragile and often last just a few hours (old-fashioned blue, color-corrected lamps that are increasingly irrelevant in the digital era)
- lamp holder with fixed cable and inline rocker switch, the latter not available on traditional photoflood lights.

First Studio Portrait Kit
Designed for basic portrait photography, the First Studio Portrait Kit includes two 8-inch-diameter FirstStar reflector lights, two 250-watt tungsten lamps, two of the Photoflex LS-2205 LiteStand™, and two Photoflex 45-inch-diameter umbrellas.
The Photoflex umbrella has a black exterior and hot-silver interior. Its industry-leading, double-laminated interior limits light leaks and thus cuts power costs and shooting time.
Compact and portable, the LiteStand comes in four sections. It sets up quickly, and the aluminum tubing extends to a maximum of 7 feet, 4 inches.

First Studio Product Kit
Product shooters will be able to achieve professional-quality results with the soft lighting provided by the First Studio Product Kit in its tabletop-sized shooting enclosure.
The kit includes two 8-inch-diameter FirstStar reflector lights, two 250-watt tungsten lamps, two of the Photoflex LS-2205 LiteStand, and a medium-size Photoflex LiteIgloo™ tent (20x20x20 inches).
The pop-open, cube-style LiteIgloo offers nearly shadow-free lighting, with white diffusion fabric and soft, translucent exterior walls that provide super-soft illumination of light on subjects. The fabric has a one F-stop diffusion rating. |

| A shooting port is positioned at one end of the LiteIgloo, where a specially designed, multi-position door allows many shooting angles as well as closure around camera lenses. Large exterior wall surfaces and ceiling areas permit subjects to be surrounded with soft light, which is especially important when shooting small items ranging from jewelry and coins to model cars and toasters. Interior Velcro® tabs allow easy attachment of white, velvet-like background sweep that extends the full length of the interior.
