Ritz Interactive contracts with Web Photo School to develop free photography schools on its websites |
| 07/29/2005 - Watsonville, California |
Ritz Interactive has entered into an agreement with Web Photo School for development of free consumer photography schools on four of its websites, WPS Chief Executive Officer Gene Kester announced today.
|
A network of e-commerce websites, Ritz Interactive has directed WPS to create photography schools for the websites of Ritz Camera, Wolf Camera, Camera World, and PhotoAlley.com. URL address for each school include the company name and Web Photo School, such as http://ritz.webphotoschool.com/.
The new photography schools feature lessons on how specific digital cameras work, digital-imaging techniques for taking first-rate photos, and use of equipment such as tripods, flash, reflectors, umbrellas, memory cards, and spot lighting.
"Photographers of beginning, intermediate, and advanced skills will benefit from this instant and practical online learning, just as they have from Web Photo School's own lessons since our website debuted in 1998," Kester states. "Since it's based on the Web, this free consumer education is available night or day, whenever consumers wish to access it."
Web Photo School is the world's largest online resource for photography and digital-imaging lessons for all levels of photographers. A library of more than 200 lessons on its website (www.webphotoschool.com) offers step-by-step, easy-to-understand information that can be put to use right away. Instruction that used to be possible only face to face, taking months or years of time, can now be learned in just minutes online. |

"WPS lessons address frequently asked questions from customers of the four Ritz Interactive companies, and thus provide customers with an excellent learning opportunity," Kester says. "With WPS publishing at least one new lesson each month, we believe Ritz Interactive customers will come back to the schools on a regular basis. In addition, we think the WPS lessons will present a good opportunity to introduce new photography products, and to target accessories to existing customers."
As a further value-added feature benefiting customers, equipment featured in each lesson will link to product detail pages on each Ritz Interactive website. Customers can obtain more information there, and if they wish, proceed to purchasing the product through use of an online shopping cart. |
