        <p>If the umbrella is not usable, then it is time to get another one. The cost to repair one would be more than the cost of a new one.<br />
You could try straightening the shaft with standard plumbing pipe (putting the pipe over the shaft &amp; bending the shaft back with the pipe,) but it depends on where &amp; how much it was bent.</p>

        <p>Using a silver umbrella will give you more efficiency of about ½ stop. The white umbrella will give you a softer light when used close to your subject. So for lighting larger groups, the silver would be the best choice. For close-up portraiture, the white or shoot through mode would be the best choice unless you were looking for a little more contrast and highlight specularity in your image.</p>
