My name is Patrick, and I’m a photographer based out of Charleston, South Carolina. After graduating college with a BS degree in Biology, my initial career aspiration was to follow in my father’s footsteps and become a dentist. During that application period, I picked up my first DSLR camera and began considering photography as a career. Over the next five years, I found success as a commercial wedding photographer and started expanding my portfolio to include extreme sport portraits and editorial work. I’ve always found images that make people look iconic or larger than life interesting, and I think a lot of my work often goes in that direction.
Back in 2009 while shooting a wedding in Germany, Lee Morris and I started brainstorming the idea of creating a community for creative professionals to share their work and knowledge. It became clear that Fstoppers should feature behind the scenes style videos once our DSLR cameras began shooting HD video. Together, Lee and I launched Fstoppers in March 2010 with just a handful of original videos. One year later, Fstoppers has turned into a global community for both photographers and videographers.
