The StarFlash 300 Mercury OctoDome Kit is an outstanding monobloc kit perfect for all skill levels. This kit features a StarFlash 300 extruded aluminum monobloc strobe in combination with our OctoDome: small (3-foot) soft box. The OctoDome provides beautiful soft diffused light. Kit Components:
StarFlash® 300 [SB-SF300W] This strobe offers variable power up to 300 watt/second. This is a monobloc head designed for the seasoned professional and the emerging photographer. The StarFlash uses high-quality German flash tubes. The modeling light can be set at full brightness or proportional to the flash tube light output. The unit recharges quickly and has audible and visible light full-charge indicators. This strobe can be used with a reflector, umbrella, or soft box. The included Tilt Swivel Mount is secure and allows for tilt range of 170°. The Tilt Swivel can be repositioned on the StarFlash to compensate for weight imbalance when using larger soft boxes.

StarFlash Connector [SB-B9017SFC] This soft box connector enables you to attach the StarFlash to Photoflex soft boxes (MultiDome®, LiteDome®, HalfDome™, OctoDome®) already in your product arsenal. The connector features an outer plate that can rotate around the center plate allowing rotation of the soft box while connected to the strobe unit. The bayonet-style mount is easy to operate and holds securely to the StarFlash unit.
OctoDome®: small (3-foot) [FV-MOD3] The OctoDome is without a doubt, the most versatile octagonal soft box in the world. Its unique eight-sided shape and narrow profile (1’ deep) provide big light spread in a space-saving package. This soft box’s broad wrap-around light is perfect for traditional head and shoulders portraiture.
The OctoDome is designed to produce a wider angle of light spread than our traditional soft boxes, resulting in a wrap-around light that looks like soft, even, natural light coming in through a window. The OctoDome includes four double-sided silver and gold removable panels that Velcro® into the OctoDome to alter the color to either warm up the light for more natural skin tones by utilizing the gold interior panels, or to get added contrast for the image, with brighter highlights and darker shadows by utilizing the silver interior panels.
These four panels also provide the opportunity to experiment with your lighting by using just two panels at a time, or combining two gold and two silver panels at the same time to give brighter highlights and slightly warmers skin tones. This soft box can be used in so many different ways!
LiteStand 2214 [LS-B2214] These medium weight LiteStands extend to 8’ and feature all-metal construction. The LiteStand has a black finish rather than chrome so as to avoid any unwanted reflections from entering your images. The legs have an extra-wide footprint, increasing stability for use with soft boxes and umbrellas. The legs also have rubber feet, eliminating sliding. The LiteStands have over-sized knobs that are easy to grip and allow for quick setup, adjustments and breakdown on set. Bolted joints make replacement quick and simple.
