Over the past 24 years, Photoflex has developed and refined the manufacturing of our soft boxes in order to provide you with true color balancing of both tungsten-balanced and daylight-balanced light sources. The most versatile octagon-shaped soft box on the market, the OctoDome3 is designed for optimum light reflectivity and light control.
Many competitors use the most inexpensive fabric available to construct their soft boxes, but the OctoDome3 is made out of a heavy-duty proprietary high-grade Duracloth™ fabric allowing Photoflex to offer a six-year limited warranty against manufacturer’s defects – six times longer than most of the competitors products.
The OctoDome3 comes with its own carry bag for easy transport and storage.

Unique Shape
Its unique eight-sided shape and narrow profile (16” deep) provide big light spread in a space-saving package. The OctoDome3 is designed to produce a wider angle of light spread than our traditional soft boxes, resulting in a soft, even, natural wrap-around light that is perfect for traditional head and shoulders portraiture.
Removable Panels
The OctoDome3 includes four double-sided silver and gold removable panels that Velcro® into the interior of the soft box. These four panels provide the opportunity to experiment with your lighting by either warming up the light for more natural skin tones (using the gold panels), to get added contrast for the image, with brighter highlights and darker shadows (using silver interior panels), or blend the results by creating your own custom combination of gold and silver panels. This soft box can be used in so many different ways!
Optimum Light Control
The back patch fits snugly around the light source so that there is minimal light spill out the back of the OctoDome3. This eliminates unwanted light bouncing around the studio and maximizes the power of your light source coming out of the face.
Removable Face and Baffle
Photoflex was the first lighting company in the world to design soft boxes with removable faces 24 years ago. We still produce the best innovative solution for modifying the light coming through the front of the OctoDome3 and our other soft boxes. The removable face was designed to Velcro onto the front of the soft box leaving a 2” Velcro-lined recess. The ground breaking design not only prevents unwanted light-spill from the front of the OctoDome3, but enables you to easily attach additional light control accessories such as grids. The interior removable baffle is designed to remove the hot spot from the center of the face resulting in an even smoother, consistent and natural looking light on your subject.
QRC® (Quick Release Corners)
Our patented QRC relieve pressure on support rods for quick and easy setup and teardown of the soft box. The spring steel rods are easily removable, enabling easy replacement if necessary. Each of the eight corners is heavily reinforced against wear so that the rods will not wear through.
